ABout Christina
Christina is a mental health professional, coach, and advocate dedicated to helping individuals navigate life transitions, heal from emotional wounds, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and is a Resident in Counseling and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor Supervisee with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
With over 20 years of experience in the mental health and healthcare field, Christina brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, coaching skills, and compassionate care. She is the owner of Beneath The Scars Wellness & Counseling Services, LLC, a practice dedicated to supporting healing, growth, and transformation through a holistic, person-centered approach, offering either psychotherapy or coaching services based on individual client needs.
Christina’s work is deeply rooted in both professional training and lived experience. As a survivor of childhood trauma, depression, and substance use challenges, she has maintained over 25 years of sobriety and uses her journey to inspire hope and healing in others. In 2019, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy, an experience that further strengthened her advocacy for body awareness, resilience, and support for those impacted by cancer.
She has been featured in multiple media outlets, including Women’s Health Magazine, CBS 6, WUSA9, and BlackDoctor.org, and is the host of Our Scars Speak, where she shares stories of healing and restoration. Christina is also a Certified Global Breast Health Educator through the Know Your Lemons Foundation.
At the heart of her work is a simple belief that faith can produce healing, but we must be willing to confront the issues and put in the work to become the best version of ourselves.
